The procedures for animal boarding can change according to the flight.

FLIGHTS WITHIN BRAZIL

Domestic animals such as dogs and cats are accepted inside the passenger's cabin.
Animals exceeding 10 kg/22lbs (animal + kennel) cannot be transported in the cabin. See below for instructions regarding animal boarding. Limited to 1 animal per flight; check availability with our Call Center.

For reservations, contact our Call Center at least 48 hours prior to the flight.
Animal boarding in the cabin is allowed only on flights operated by TAM (JJ).
Upon confirmation by our Call Center, arrive for the reserved flight two hours in advance.
The animal must be placed in a kennel, which can be acquired at pet shops. This kennel should have enough space for the animal to stand up, turn around and lie down. It must be made of a resistant material, free from protrusions or protuberances, leak-proof and in compliance with the specifications from the table below:


The animal does not need to be sedated.
For boarding inside the passenger's cabin, the total weight of the kennel + animal should not exceed 10 kg/22lbs.

Documents Required
Anti-rabies Vaccination Certificate for animals over 3 months old, stating the name of the manufacturing laboratory, the vaccine type and the lot number. This vaccine must be given between 30 days up to one year before the departure (animals under three months of age not yet vaccinated must present authorization from veterinarian).

Health certificate issued by the veterinarian: the certificate is valid for 10 days from its issuance date.

NOTOC Form (provided by TAM)
Attention: Since 07/18/06 the submission of Animal Transportation Guide has no longer been required for the boarding of dogs and cats.

Fares
A fee will be charged in the amount of ninety reais (R$ 90,00) + (weight of the kennel and the animal multiplied by the value corresponding to 0.5% of the published full fare).

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

For international flights, operated by TAM(except to London), domestic animals, such as dogs and cats, are accepted inside the passenger's cabin at the Business and Economy Class. Domestic animals are not allowed in First Class.

Boarding Procedures

Upon confirmation by our Call Center, arrive at the airport at least 3 hours in advance.
To board wild animals or animals that exceed the weight limit established, or with destination to Frankfurt, please contact TAM CARGO: All TAM Numbers
The animal must be placed in a kennel, which can be acquired at pet-shops. This kennel should have enough space for the animal to turn around and must to be made of a resistant material, free from sharp edges, and leak-proof.
The total weight of the kennel + animal cannot exceed 10 kg/lbs and must comply with the same dimensions established for domestic departures.

Zoosanitary Certificate - valid for 10 days. If the journey is longer than 10 days is necessary to issue a new Certificate for the return, which can be obtained at the Ministry Of Agriculture in each country.

Fares
A fee of USD 50.00 + the applicable excess baggage fee + taxes for destinations that use the weight system will be charged. For destinations that use the piece system, a fee corresponding of 2 excess luggage fees will be charged.

LIVE ANIMAL TRANSPORTATION INSIDE LUGGAGE (AVIH) - NATIONAL

NOTE: THE REQUESTS WILL DENPEND ON CONFIRMATION

ACCEPTANCE
Will be accepted as luggage animals considered pets only, such as dogs, cats or guide monkey;

TAM does not transport any animal in pregnancy conditions or that has been through labour in the last 48 hours. If the animal is in a rut it may be transported with absorbing material (newspaper, sawdust, etc) inside the Kennel.

Animals with natural incompatibility (eg.: dogs X cats X birds, etc) cannot board on the same flight.

Animals considered wild should be dispatched as cargo (information through the toll free 0800 562 211);

In case of connection with similar companies, the acceptance of the animal will depend on the previous query and its authorization p>

RESERVATION PROCEDURE
The requests must be made by the client within at least 24 hours before the flight take-off;

Connections with TAM flights, either for domestic or international flights must follow the same criteria regarding limitation, seats availability and time of advance.

KENNEL CHARACTERISTICS
The animal must be conditioned in a kennel where it can complete a full turn around itself;

The kennel will be of the animal's owner liability and won't be provided by te company;

The AVIH must obey the following requirement in order to be confirmed:

Weight: Animals up to 40kg are accepted as dispatched luggage (along with the kennel),regardless of the aircraft.

Maximum quantity of AVIH per aircraft:

If there is connection with other companies they need to be consulted previously.
being of resistant material, preferably fibre, to prevent the animal from escaping;

One animal for kennel only.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Attention: Since 07/18/06 it is no longer necessary to present the GTA (animal transit guide) for the boarding of cats and dogs.

Anti-rabies vaccination certificate;

Anti-rabies vaccine for animals with more than 3 months. The animal must have been vaccinated more than 30 days and less than 1 year before the boarding date.

Animal's health attestation;

BOARDING
The passenger must come (with all the required documents) for the check-in with, at least:

The animal doesn't have to be sedated;

It will be filled at boarding:
- NOTOC form - provided by TAM;
- Sender's Liability form - provided by TAM.

Connections in different airports must be treated as independent reaches for each airport, which means that the passenger must take the animal on the first landing and dispatch it again on the connection airport.

FEE
The animals transportation is not part of the luggage franchise to which the passenger has right.

Charging in connections in different airports (in which the passenger takes the animal on the first landing and dispatches it again) will be made from the origin point to the final destination.

Will be charged as luggage excess:
