Reservations for Pets on Avelo Airlines


You must always make a reservation with Avelo Airlines to fly with your pet. You will have to purchase the "Pet Add-On" from the "Add-Ons" page on the Avelo website while making your reservation, or under the Manage my Booking for an existing reservation.  You can do this through the Avelo Website, or by calling Avelo Customer Support at (346) 616-9500.

Pets will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. On most flights, a maximum of 4 pet carriers are allowed into the cabin. How much does it cost to fly with my pet on Avelo Airlines?


Pets traveling are subject to a $125 pet fare each way per pet carrier. Please note that this fee has gone up for 2023, as it was previously $95 to bring a pet on board an Avelo Airlines flight.

Customers will be permitted to travel with no more than one (1) pet carrier per person. Each pet carrier can have no more than two (2) small cats or dogs per pet carrier. The pet carrier will count either as the Customer’s carry-on bag or personal item.   Avelo does not require a health certificate or any other documentation from the Customer’s veterinarian for pets to travel.

Pets as Cargo / Checked Baggage on Avelo Airlines


Avelo Airlines does not accept pets as cargo / checked baggage - they only accept small pets borught into the cabin in a pet carrier. 

Pet Carrier Maximum Dimensions


Avelo will only accept small cats and dogs in carriers that can be stowed under the seat in front of you. Hard-sided containers no larger than 14″ x 9″ x 9.5″ or soft containers that fit in the same space.

Avelo Airlines Rules for Service Animals


Trained service animals are not considered pets and do not count toward the maximum number of pets permitted onboard. If a customer with a trained service animals would like to bring a pet, they must purchase an additional seat and have their pet carrier stowed under the seat in front of the additional seat.  Emotional support animals are not considered service animals, and must fly as pets.
